I'm very happy to report that the Savannah Sparrow and Yellow-rumped Warbler
coming to the feeders at 170 Oakridge Blvd. in Ottawa, appear healthy and
energetic (but often elusive - especially the Savannah.)
A Lapland Longspur is still being seen (today) with a flock of (40+) Horned
Larks, (30+) Snow Buntings, starlings and pigeons in a manure covered field
at the corner of Donald B. Munro Dr. and Diamondview Rd.
Directions to the Oakridge feeders:
>From the Queensway (Hwy. 417), travel south on Woodroffe Ave, past Baseline
Rd., and past Algonquin College.
Continue to the Meadowlands/Tallwood intersection. Turn LEFT (east) on
Turn right (south) on Sullivan Ave. (the first street off Meadowlands after
turning off Woodroffe.)
Turn right (west) on Oakridge Blvd. #170 will be on your left about 2/3 down
The feeders are in the back. Please do not block the laneway! It is
recommended that you observe from beside the garage.
Directions to the manure field:
Travelling west on Hwy. 417, turn right on March Road (#49.) Turn left on
Diamondview Rd. and drive up to Donald B. Munro Drive. The bird was in the
northeast field of the corner of Donald B. Munro Dr. and Diamondview Rd.
Good Birding to All
