On a brief walk through the northern part of Colonel Samuel Smith Park in
Toronto today, I found a WINTER WREN in the creek on the east side of the
"powerplant" (the red brick building with the smoke stack).

The NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL was still on its usual perch in the cedars along
the west side of Col. Sam
Smith Drive (the extension of Kipling south of Lakeshore Blvd W) just north
of the first turn. (This is often a good spot for winter owls, but this
will probably be its last winter. These woods are just outside the park
boundary. Construction of a new school is likely to begin on the site later
this year.)

I didn't get down to the lake to check for the Snowy Owl or the Loons.

Colonel Samuel Smith Park is found at the corner of Kipling Avenue and
Lakeshore Blvd W in Toronto.
