Tree Swallows at Cranberry in southwest Whitby--Mar.30

Vive les few bugs about!!--5 TREE SWALLOWS flew about over the marsh
throughout the day. On the water or along its edges-- 4 Wood Ducks, 10
Am.Wigeon,8 Shovelers,several N.Pintails,6Gadwall,many Mallard, 5 Black
Duck, several Green-winged Teal, 2 Hooded Mergs, 10 Ring-necked Duck, 5
Bufflehead, 2 Killdeer,  Mute Swans and 7 Trumpeter Swans incl. Zack (R37
neck-collared from Chesapeake) and wing-tagged #568, 537, 587 and 137.

At the platform boardwalk-- several Rusty Blackbirds, 1 Wh.-throated Sp. and
2 Swamp Sp.

At the roadside feeders and ground-- fairly "quiet" - a 10AM showing of the
Wh.-winged Crossbill and female Purple Finch were about the only "good"
birds.

Cranberry Marsh is at the base of Hall's Rd., 1 block east of Lakeridge,
accessed south from Victoria St. in southwest Whitby, ON
