Aylmer WMA report - May 1, 2002

The MARBLED GODWIT was not at Aylmer WMA this morning. It appears to have
stayed only from about 4:15 to 6:00 p.m. yesterday.

The GLOSSY IBIS was seen until 10:00 a.m. today when it was seen flying off
to the east. This was the first time it had left the area since its
discovery Sunday evening so it has likely moved on.

The ROSS'S GOOSE was not present yesterday evening but was today. Its
pattern of movement appears to be such that it moves off site in the early
evening with Canada Geese to feed in nearby corn stubble fields and returns
to Aylmer WMA during the day. At 11:00 a.m. this morning it was in the back
pond which can be reached by driving along Mockingbird Circle to the
southeast viewing stand.

In general, there were considerably less ducks and shorebirds this morning
compared to yesterday.

PS The seven GLOSSY IBIS at Melbourne were still present at dusk on April 30.
