  Holiday Beach Migration Observatory hosts their Hawk
Festival this weekend and next.  Holiday Beach is 30
minutes south of Windsor, ON, on beautiful Lake Erie,
featuring the fabulous 40 foot tall Hawk Tower, a
beautiful beach, and the possibility of a major
Broad-winged Hawk flight.  There is an entry fee for
the park, but the festival events are free.

Directions: To get to Holiday Beach Conservation Area,
take Highway 18 to Malden Centre then go south on
County Road 50 to the Conservation Area entrance.

Holiday Beach Migration Observatory (HBMO) volunteers
help with hawk I.D. 
8:00 am - 1:30 pm The Blue Kestral Cafe 
Essex County Field Naturalists' volunteers serve light
breakfast and lunch. 
10:00 am - 3:00 pm Nature Displays, Information and
Hawk Festival Souvenirs 
Volunteers from the Holiday Beach Migration
Observatory explain bird banding and other research
programs in the "classroom". 
10:00 am - 3:00 pm "Hands's On" Nature Display 
Volunteers for Conservation help children of all ages
learn about hawks. 
10:45 am - 3:00 pm Pelee Wings & the Festival Trailer 
Binoculars, books, & hawk items for sale. 
11:00 am Hawk Banding Demonstration 
Holiday Beach Raptor Banding Station volunteers give
live hawk I.D. and banding demonstrations.
