South winds dominated the count right from the start today and their
intensity only increased as the day wore on, switching more to the east in
the afternoon. Despite this a steady if light pace was observed throughout
the day and a decent total was recorded by days end. As expected many of
the birds took a northwest flight path and undoubtedly many more were
beyond even scope view. The stiff wind kept most of the birds low, often
disappearing beyond a tree line only to pop up at close range.
