I look forward to evidence of increased waterfowl nesting in the refurbished
Cranberry Marsh wetlands this spring. If you gingerly creep up to any of the
4 wetland areas, so as not to spook the birds, you may get closeup views of
up to 7 prs. of Blue-winged Teals, along with 2 prs. of Wood Ducks and many
other waterfowl species. Problem--advancement may cause the birds to fly off
to hide amongst the cattails. Best time of day is before 11AM.

Among several waterfowl species on the waterfront were many Red-breasted
Mergansers.

Cranberry Marsh is at the foot of Hall's Rd. in southwest Whitby, it being 1
block east of Lakeridge Rd., and is accessed south from Bayly/Victoria St.
