OFNC BIRD STATUS LINE - APR 17 2003 AT 8:30 PM

This is Chris Lewis reporting a RARE BIRD ALERT.

A male EURASIAN WIGEON was reported today from the Quebec
side of the Ottawa River, in the marshes east of Masson
along the south side of Hwy 148. The bird may be seen
from Marais des Laiches or Baie Clement - both locations
are well-signed.

Additionally, a probable PINK-FOOTED GOOSE was discovered
today the 17th, farther east along the 148 at Baie Pentecote
in the Plaisance Marsh park. There is a small entry fee
to the park. Look for the observation blinds in the marsh
at Baie Pentecote.

The Bird Status Line will be updated with more bird reports
after the weekend.

Thank you - Good Birding!
