A quick trip to the Mitchell Sewage Lagoons turned up the following:
1 Juv. Stilt Sandpiper, 3 Juv. Baird's Sandpipers, 3 Pectoral Sandpipers,
and 1 Juv. Black-crowned Night-heron.

Also present in fair numbers were Lesser Yellowlegs, Semipalmated
Sandpipers, Spotted Sandpipers, and Least Sandpipers.

The Mitchell Sewage Lagoons are located in the town of Mitchell west of
Stratford. Take highway 8 west from Stratford to Mitchell, turn left onto
Wellington Street, and left again on Frank. Park near the soccer field and
walk in to the sewage lagoons behind the treatment plant. Most of the
shorebirds were found along the fringes of the lagoons as the water levels
are fairly high.
