Presqu'ile seems to have more than its fair share of Purple Sandpipers, but
one turned up today in the extreme southwest corner of Cobourg harbour. It
is right at the end of the west headland, poking about among algae-covered
stones at the water's edge - a nice, bright bird.
Otherwise winter birding in the Cobourg area is underwhelming, although
there are still 60-80 Boneys in and around the harbour with one or two
sightings of single Little Gulls.
The Port Hope Great Gray Owl on Lakeshore Road has not been seen again but
we are still looking.

Directions:
>From Hwy. 401, exit at Division Street, Exit 474, and proceed south on
Division to the harbour. Drive westward along the north edge of the harbour
to the large parking lot on the west side. You will have to walk out to the
end of the west headland as the bird is not visible from the parking lot.
