Weather:
Today brought another clear sunny day and little or no cloud cover. Winds
were light to moderate southeast.

Raptor Observations:
The flight built steadily during the morning, remaining so through the
afternoon and into early evening. Much of the movement was to the north,
quite predictably given the wind direction but there were plenty of birds
overhead as well. This was the first day with well-organized Broad-wing
kettles ranging in size from a couple dozen to a couple hundred birds.
Also highlighting the day was a decent early season showing of falcons,
particularly one very cooperative Peregrine that flew low over the
onlookers at the watch.

Non-raptor Observations:
Also of note today was what has become an annual occurrence of an
Olive-sided Flycatcher on the snag west of the count area just off the
boaters’ parking lot.
