Hi Everyone

Did a dawn chorus at Chaffeys Lock Road/Opinicon Road area yesterday,
July 23rd. Still lots of activity both singing and feeding young. Highlights
included 5 Cerulean Warbler, 14 Yellow-throated Vireo, 1 Yellow-billed
Cuckoo, and 2 male Golden-winged Warblers giving there alternate song. Lots
of Red-eyed Vireo and Indigo Bunting singing and a few Wood Thrush. Even
Red-shouldered Hawks were calling regularly at a number of spots along the
road. A family of Wild Turkeys with 8 small young crossed the road near
Skycroft. If you require any additional information please email me

                                                        good birding
Directions: Chaffeys Lock/Opinicon Road: Opinicon Road is north of
Kingston. From Hwy. 401 take county road 10 (exit 617) north towards
Westport for about 20 kilometres. Roughly 1 or 2 kms. past Perth Road
Village on the right is Opinicon Road. Turn right and drive towards
Chaffeys Lock making regular stops along the way to listen. Anywhere
along Opinicon Road is can be good. The old railway line or the Rideau
Trail system opposite Skycroft Campgrounds are great for birding .
