Weather:
Early morning fog delayed the start of the count today. Otherwise
conditions were sunny and somewhat hazy with little or no cloud cover.
Winds were light west early becoming light to moderate southeast by mid
morning.

Raptor Observations:
The migration overall today was quite stagnant and dominated by vultures, a
typical scenario given the weather conditions and wind direction. Much of
the flight was predictably well to the north especially as the day wore
on. One highlight from early in the day was a dark-morph Swainson’s Hawk,
the fourth of that species in two days.

Non-raptor Observations:
There was a very interesting mix of non-raptor highlights today. The most
remarkable was a Gull-billed Tern seen during the second hour of the
count, only the second of this species seen in the state. Other good
sightings included Hudsonian Godwit, Northern Mockingbird, Trumpeter Swan
and two hummingbirds.
