A male Brewer's Duck (MallardXGadwall) was present this morning at
Lakeview Marina in Windsor. The bird was with a large flock of
Mallards at the mouth of Little River. The marina affords a good view
of Peche Island where 27 Great Blue Herons and 4 Ruddy Ducks were
visible along the shoreline.

There were small pockets of open water at the mouth of the Thames
River at Lighthouse Cove this afternoon. In addition to hundreds of
waterfowl there were 28 Great Blue Herons, 8 Double-crested
Cormorants, 3 Pied-billed Grebes, 3 Bald Eagles, 1 adult Glaucous
Gull and 1 first winter Lesser Black-backed Gull.

Lakeview Marina is located in Windsor along Riverside Drive at
Riverdale. Lighthouse Cove is about 6 km NNW of Tilbury on County Rd.
39 (reached off County Road 42). I'll post a photo of the Brewer's
Duck to the OFO photo page at www.ofo.ca/photos/
