Tony and Carol Kemp from Owen Sound, in the area for the OFO conference,
spent several hours on the tower today.

Today was completely clouded over throughout with occasional brief showers.
Light but steady rain brought the flight to an end by 1 pm EST. Winds
began light to moderate out of the North-east, gradually working their way
around to South-east by late morning. Temperatures were quite mild,
starting at 17.2 and rising to a high of 18.2.

Raptor Observations:
The flight was very light with a couple of kettles of Turkey Vultures, a
good number of Harriers including 5 males, and one adult peregrine falcon
that perched in the "eagle tree" for all on the tower.

Non-raptor Observations:
Between 8 - 11am EST the rather odd phenomenon of hundreds of Tree Swallows
flying eastward (their usual migration direction here is west) directly
into the moderate east winds was observed. Moderate numbers of Redwing
Blackbirds were on the move, and several sparrow species including
White-crowned, White-throated, Field, and Song were abundant. Only a few
Blue Jays were seen.

Tomorrow is expected to be mild with a high around 20. Winds will be light
from the South-West. There is a possibility of fog and light showers in
the early morning, then a mix of sun and clouds for the rest of the day.
