Weather:
Today was mainly sunny with high cirrus cloud prevailing throughout the
day. Winds were light out of the east early in the day becoming moderate
southeast by midday.

Raptor Observations:
The flight today was pretty much predictable given the conditions,
dominated largely by a very good Sharp-shin flight with just a few distant
kettles of Broad-wings seen well to the north. Bald Eagles had their best
showing so far this season while most other species were seen in decent if
not large numbers. Kestrels continue to have a poor year and are well below
the typical pace you would expect at this juncture of the season. One
noteworthy encounter witnessed today, one I haven’t seen in a few seasons,
of a Bald Eagle pirating a fish meal from an Osprey.

Non-raptor Observations:
A fair number of warblers were around again today, mostly Blackpoll and
Cape May. A few American Pipits were heard as flyovers and two American
Golden Plovers were seen with a small group of Killdeers flying over the
watch today.
