Observation start time: 06:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 10 hours

Official Counter: Colin Horstead

Observers: Ches Caister, Dave Brown, Dave Verkley, Don Taylor,
Jason McGuire, Jim Dunn, Phil Waggett

Visitors:
Sudhir Sahu, Dave Ford. Paul Thomas

Weather:
Very light NE and NW winds for the morning eventually swung to moderate
winds from the SW. Temp made it to 18C. Cloud cover never exceeded 30%.

Raptor Observations:
For the 4th straight day our count exceeded the 1000 bird mark...with a
total of 1876. The TV's (1495) were obviously determined to move...a lone
Osprey passed overhead so high it was visible only in binoculars...and we
finally had Redtails (32) starting to make their move. The bird of the day
was the first Northern Goshawk (adult) of the season...kudos to Phil
Waggett for picking this bird up for the day's tally.

Non-raptor Observations:
Lots of passerine flocks today...with Blue Jays, Grackles, Starlings,
Redwings, Goldfinches and Robins. Other birds seen today included some
warblers...Yellow-rumped, Nashville and Palm...Golden-crowned Kinglets,
House and Winter Wrens, various sparrows...Field, Swamp, Lincoln,
White-crowned and White-throated. Highlight was a Northern Mockingbird that
crossed the field in front of the counters.
