Weather:
Very windy from the NE for most of the count period today providing the
counters with a taste of windchill for the first time this season.
Eventually, the temp made it to 17C as the wind let up a bit in the last
couple of hours. The bulk of the cloud cover lasted only a couple of hours
in the morning and then broke out to completely blue skies.

Raptor Observations:
Well, for the first time in recent years we managed a 5th straight day of
1000+ birds with a total today of 2388. As usual for this timeframe the
majority of the flight was TV's (1975) although Sharpies (321) put in a
good showing as well. A nice bird for the day was a very low and
cooperative male Northern Harrier that was photographed by one of our
counters Mark Cunningham.

Interestingly, later in the day one of our other counters (Colin Horstead)
was enjoying a coffee in nearby Port Stanley and reported having 7 kettles
of TV's (each at least 100+ birds) in the sky around the villiage at the
SAME TIME!! He actually pointed out the kettling birds to several nearby
non-birders who were quite impressed. :)

Non-raptor Observations:
Lots of flocks of the usual passerines for this time in the season...Blue
Jays, Starlings, Grackles, Redwings, Crows and Goldfinch.
