Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Justin Bosler

Observers: Claude Radley, Jim McCoy, Rene Kielbasa

Visitors:
Three couples made it up to the tower today in addition to a few of our
helpful and much appreciated regulars.

Weather:
Overcast to mostly cloudy skies with scattered AM rain showers.
North-northeast winds early on switched to East by midday and even turned
East-southeast by early PM. Temps. ranged from 20 to 25C.

Raptor Observations:
Scattered rain showers kept raptor numbers at a minimum throughout the
morning. Some clearing and drying out by late morning allowed for a
relatively nice midday flight of Sharpies. Also, it was our first 3 falcon
day with a total of 5 westbound Merlins, and one additional bird low and
close heading east (not counted).

Non-raptor Observations:
A few birds worthy of mention today:

American Bittern, 1
Black-crowned Night-heron, 4-5

A number of shorebirds including B-b Plover, Solitary Sandpiper, Lesser
and Greater Yellowlegs, Dunlin (15), Least Sandpiper, S-b Dowitcher, and
Wilson's Snipe.

Bonaparte's Gull, 2 (FOF)

Common Nighthawk, 1
Ruby-throated Hummingbird, 13
Purple Martin, 5

Fair number of warblers heading west along the lakeshore in the AM despite
wet conditions.

Purple Finch, 1

Predictions:
Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of rain showers. Slight chance of a
PM t-storm. Winds generally light from the East-northeast and East. High of
25C.
