Visitors:
Quite a few visitors (16) today including Jim Mcoy, Gary and Dorothy
Balkwill, Rene Kielbasa, Sarah Ruppert, Bob Pettit, and several other
enthusiastic hawkwatchers.


Weather:
Clear skies early becoming mostly and then partly cloudy. Some haze and fog
to North over first hour or so. Northeast winds at 0 to 3 mph to start then
becoming East-southeast to Southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Temps. ranged from
17.5 to 23.5C. Visibility improved from about 10 to 28 km.

Raptor Observations:
Great day all around, although lacking larger numbers of Broadwings.
Largest of 3 kettles comprised 52 individuals. Best hour between 1500-1600
EST with a total of 115 raptors recorded. Another fine Kestrel total (49).

Non-raptor Observations:
Black-crowned Night-heron- 8,
Bald Eagle- 3 locals,

Shorebirds included Killdeer, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Spotted,
Solitary, and Pectoral (13) Sandpipers.

Bonaparte's Gull- 2 basic ads.,

Ruby-throated Hummingbird- 24,
Purple Martin- 3+,

Moderate morning flight of warblers comprised mostly of Magnolia, Yellow,
and Redstart.

Cedar Waxwing- 153,

Purple Finch- 4,
American Goldfinch- 285,

Other:
Monarch- 120
Few dragonflies today.

Predictions:
Foggy to start then becoming partly cloudy by late AM. Northeast and
North-northeast winds at 0 to 10 mph. High of 24C. Reminder that Festival
