Visitors:
A few visitors braved the ominous weather today...
Thanks to Ethan Meleg and Dean and Allison Ware, and all the other
spotters today. Thanks to Cramer for supporting my passion.

Weather:
A blustery October day...Temps ranged from 10.0 C this morning to a high of
14.7 C early afternoon. Cloud cover was almost complete the majority of
the day. Winds were WSW early changing to SW in the afternoon. Wind speed
was pretty constant throughout the day from 8 to 10 mph, gusting to 13 mph.

Raptor Observations:
A good day for falcons with several of each making an appearance. A few
Broad-winged hawks still moving thru along with a single Osprey gave us 11
species today. Turkey Vultures and Sharp-shinned hawks showed the largest
numbers.

Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jays continue moving thru 16,320, though the numbers seem to be
decreasing from earlier this week. A large movement of American Gold
Finch,1,085 today along with European Starlings. A single Spotted
Sandpiper forged at the pond east of the tower, and a single Ruby Throated
Hummingbird was noted. Other birds of note: Red-headed Woodpecker 1,
Killdeer 18, Norther Flicker 1, Tree Swallows 35.

Predictions:
Tomorrow promises a lot more sunshine...should be a big day for Turkey
Vultures if they keep moving through.
