Official Counter: Jim Pawlicki

Observers: Chuck Sharbaugh, Jim McCoy, Karen Padbury

Visitors:
Only a few visitors today that included Chuck Sharbaugh and two friends
from Michigan, Jim McCoy, Karen Padbury, and briefly Todd Pepper.

Weather:
Partly cloudy and cool (High 16C) with NNW winds 10-14 km/hr.

Raptor Observations:
A good movement of Turkey Vultures along with Red-tails and Sharp-shins. A
fair number of Red-shouldereds came through low providing some nice looks.
Highlights were an adult dark morph Red-tailed Hawk that went by at 11:14
DST (record shot posted here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/50137890@N05/),
along with a juv. Goshawk and high-flying (age unk.) Peregrine, both of
which went by in the afternoon. Also the local juv. Osprey continues to
fish around the south end of the marsh and trout pond, while a "getting
late" migrant Osprey went by today as well.

Non-raptor Observations:
Notable were 2 Caspian Terns, Orange-crowned Warbler, and 14 Pine Siskins
(with a few perching for nice looks). American Crows were on the move with
1,580 tallied, while Blue Jay numbers continue to drop with only 380
tallied. Also the Greater Yellowlegs extended its stay to day 11 on the
pond and remains in company of a/the Solitary Sandpiper(s).

Predictions:
Sunny with NW winds becoming W 20 km/hr in the afternoon. High of 17C.
Winds look good for a continued flight from today.
