Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Rob Payne

Observers: Darlene Friedman, Don Sherwood, Josh Haas, Patrick Mulawa,
                  Rodney Laura

Visitors:
A very nice group of nature lovers enjoyed a good part of the day. This
group was lead by one of our Counters, Josh Haas. All-in-all about a 15 of
our weekend regulars, as well as some new faces, helped keep an eye out.

Weather:
A perfectly cloudless day, even the haze cleared out in the afternoon.
Temperatures were warm topping out at 74f. Winds continue to come in from
the north west, very slowly in the morning, and gaining strength later with
a westward shift.

Raptor Observations:
It was hard to find birds with a solid blue sky. Only 2,609 were seen today
of 7 species. The Turkey Vulture flight line was weird today as they did
not kettle much, but streamed slowly in small numbers all day. Normally we
have our Turkey Vulture kettles appear over Candada to our southeast, but
today nothing of note was found that far out. Many more hawks were seen
today with all the extra eyes of our weekend crowd. 39 Sharp-shinned Hawks
and 44 Red-tailed Hawks is an improvement from yesterday. 4 Northern
Harriers were seen today, 3 of which were males.

Non-raptor Observations:
American Crow numbers were not as evident as yesterday, still hundreds were
noted. A very large cloud of thousands of passerines, most likely starlings
and blackbirds, was seen over Canada.

Predictions:
A continuance of today's weather. Even if the raptors are slow it will be a
beautiful day outside.
