Tom Stewart (Lambeth) and Jim Logan (Michigan).

Thanks to our observers today....Wayne, Colin, Jim, Ernie, Jen and Derek,
Mary, Tom Thomas, Mac, Phil, Maris and Keith.

A beautiful fall day...with light to moderate W then SW winds...eventually
becoming variable...swinging around all directions including NW. No clouds
for the morning then some cloud building in for the afternoon. Temp to a
high of 12C.

Raptor Observations:
The flight today totalled 1652 birds. The predominant species was TV's
(982) with a good movement of mostly adult Sharpies (349). Some nice
Redtails today (232) and a small push of Red-shoulders (32) though the
counters felt that many of the buteos were missed because of the lack of
cloud making it tough to pick them up at height. Another couple of Golden
Eagles crossed through just north of Robertson Rd (just along Fairview Rd)
and 2 more Goshawks...one juvenile and an adult.

Non-raptor Observations:
Thrushes and sparrows provided some good sightings this morning. On both
sides of the road near Sharpie Alley there were many HERMIT THRUSHES and
AM. ROBINS as well as European Starlings. The sparrow highlight today was
a FOX SPARROW spotted by Derek. The CAROLINA WREN was visible as well as
vocal this morning, providing good looks for a number of birders.
On the warbler front, observers spotted YELLOW-RUMPED, NASHVILLE &

Today's bug highlight was an American Snout spotted by Jim Dunn late in
the morning in the lane just south of Sharpie alley.

Sunday is looking good....as long as the forecasters have the wind
direction right with strong NW. The only issue will be lack of clouds again
which will make it difficult to spot the birds at height.
