Just posted to the Wellington Birds listserv. The photo looks like a female Mountain Bluebird. Great find, Paul and good luck to anyone who looks for it.

> Yesterday, Brian Husband, John Gerrath and I were on Puslinch Concession 1 when we saw this bird, which had us stumped for a while. In the end we decided it was most likely a bluebird (Eastern?), although I still haven't found a picture anywhere that quite matches this one.

> When we watched it in the morning, in good light, none of us noticed any blue coloration (it just looked grey) and in direct light, the underside looked white (not grey) with a very slight buffy colour on its throat. Combined with the distinct white spectacles, this "grey and white" bird was quite a puzzler. When we returned in the afternoon, we saw a similar bird (the same one?) with more obvious blue coloration on the tail.

> I hope the group doesn't mind that I've included one small image (courtesy of Brian). We would appreciate any comments, which would certainly be helpful for other people encountering similar birds. The location is at the end.

> Puslinch Concession 1: Go south on Hwy 6 (south of Hwy 401) past Morriston. Concession One meets Hwy 6 just south of Leslie Rd West and just north of the boundary of Puslinch and Flamborough townships. Travel west on Conc 1 about 1.5 km, until you see the large signs for Long Lane Farm at the end of a farm lane. The bird was seen on the wooden fence, wires and trees along Conc 1 immediately west of this laneway.
