This afternoon (2:00 p.m.) at Bayfront Park in Hamilton were 4 Trumpeter Swans (2 adults and 2 immature) along the walkway (between 400 m and 800 m markers). Also near them were 2 White-winged Scoters.
Other species: American Robin, Greater Scaup, American Coot, Black Duck, Hooded Merganser, Common Merganser, Cooper's Hawk (on a tall antena in train yard).
At 4:00 p.m. at Whitby Harbour were 3 mature Trumpeter Swans.
Also seen: Red-Breasted Mergansers, Gadwalls, Great Black Back Gull.
Bayfront directions: From HWY 403, exit on to Main Street. Turn left on Bay Street. A few blocks farther is Bayfront Park; turn left, park, and walk the walkway along the train track.
Whitby Harbour: From HWY 401, once in Whitby, exit on Brock and head south. The harbour is one minute drive away, on your right. Walk along the walkway for hundreds of birds.
Seen by myself, (and several pedestrians)
