The female Barrow’s Goldeneye found on 25 February by Alan Wormington remains in Fort Erie. After more than an hour of early morning searching through a large number of goldeneyes in the river, I returned at mid morning and quickly spotted the bird.

It was in the Niagara River slightly north of the foot of Central Avenue where Alan originally found the bird and was associating with a small group of goldeneyes directly opposite 869 Niagara Parkway (Service Road 1) in Fort Erie.

Directions: From the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie drive north on the Niagara Parkway perhaps 1.2 kms to Central Avenue. The current was taking the birds a bit north so from here and past house number 869 to at least the next road (Anger Avenue) the ducks in the river need to be checked.
