Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 17:00:00
Total observation time: 10 hours

Official Counter: Jennifer Lyon

Observers: Colin Horstead, Derek Lyon, Don Campbell, Keith Sealy,
Mac McAlpine, Marguerite Irwin, Phoebe Campbell, Rose,
                  Wayne Parnall

Visitors:
A few visitors today...and a big thanks to Jen and Derek, Wayne, Keith,
Rose, Colin and Mac, Don and Phoebe and lots of other observers & visitors
- sorry - I didn't get all their names.

Weather:
Another nice day...but unfortuantely the winds were moderate from the SSW
which pushes the bulk of the flight inland. Today`s flight was mostly
species that use the updraft at the cliff for a quick ride westward. Temp
got to high of 22C

Raptor Observations:
As expected...it was a much smaller tally today with just 1960 raptors. OF
this...Broadwings (1695) made up most of the flight with other species
including Osprey (7), Harrier (18), Sharpies (102), Kestrel (132), a lone
Redtail and Merlin (5).

At 1:15pm, a young Bald Eagle (Juvenile) holding a dead fish in it's
talons tried to land in the `Merlin Tree" but was unsuccessful and went
north instead. It gave us all great views!

Non-raptor Observations:
Red Bellied Woodbecker, House wren,RT Hummingbird, Harry Woodbeckers (3),
House finch, E. Phoebe, American pipits (approx 30 did a flyover early
morning - id by Derek), Chimney swifts, Magnolia warbler, N. Flicker, Song
Sparrow Barn & tree swallows, 6 Shorebirds seen from the mound (id by Derek
as best guess Golden Plover - rest of us ????), Greater black-backed gulls,
1 Wood duck flyover.
