Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 7 hours

Official Counter: Todd Pepper

Observers: Ed Pitts

Visitors:
Ed and Carol Pitts returning to visit us again from Zainesville, Ohio.

Weather:
An overcast, drizzly day. Temperature was steady with a range of only 12C -
14C; the wind was generally out of the south from 5 - 15 km/hr, not as
strong as predicted. Steady barometric pressure.

Raptor Observations:
Not much! Only 19 birds of 6 species. The highlight was a female Merlin
that almost flew into my face and that of Ed Pitts standing beside me on
the tower before it did a sudden U-turn and kept on going west.

Non-raptor Observations:
A fairly light day for passerine migration as well. No major flights of any
particular species except Eurasian Starlings (which I did not count). The
high (or low) lights for the day included:

Chimney Swifts - 2

Northern Flicker - 6

American Robin - 148

Yellow-rumped Warbler - 16

Red-winged Blackbird - 1,650

American Goldfinch - 63

Predictions:
A replica of today, except with the winds out of the West at 20 - 25 km/hr.
