The King Eider found Jan 12th is still present. The bird is in the same
location first posted, mouth of the Maitland River in Goderich, on the
north side of the harbour. We observed the bird from approx 1:30 to
2:30pm. It was out near the end of the pier in the choppy water. Got
great views of this bird through the scope. Also present were a single
White-winged Scoter and a single Long-tailed Duck.

Directions: Once in Goderich, take Hwy. 21 north out of town. Just after
the river/bridge, turn left on Champlain Boulevard. Follow the signs for
the marina. There is a gate to the entrance of the marina. Park your car,
walk down the hill towards the lake (~400m), the bird was on the north side
of the mouth of river, where it empties into the lake.

Good birding,

Josh Bouman
