Over the long weekend I realized there are many Cliff Swallows nesting in
between, at the top of each of the North side of the elevators at
Collingwood Harbour. There are just a few on the south side of the
elevators as well. The Purple Martin chicks are beginning to fledge from
the colony box to the East side of the elevators. At least 14 of the 16
nests are in use. Several chicks had fallen from their nests and
disappeared. Whether they learned to fly or became food I don't know.

For Chip Weslow, I watched and photographed a Great Egret feeding in a small
inlet at the North end of Maple Street three times over the weekend. No
tags seen but the bird still had long plumes. Take Maple North off First
Street.

The elevators are a part of the Collingwood harbour park.
