FYI here is an interesting message I observed on GeneseeBirds of another
inland sighting of Brown Booby. It was a female and also an adult bird.

Thanks to David Marks of Amherst NY for taking the time to search and post
his findings.

Subject: [GeneseeBirds-L] Previous Inland Brown Booby in New Jersey

I decided to browse eBird to see if there were previous inland records
of Brown Booby in the area.

I found that one was seen at White Lake, Warren County, New Jersey,
Jul 30-31, 2012.

"very rare; continuing rarity; photos; perched in a dead tree during my
observation; apparently an adult female with yellowish facial skin; bill
horn; mostly brown, including upper parts, throat, and upper chest;
belly white,
with clean division between brown and white on breast; yellow feet"
(From Tom Johnson's Jul 31, 2012 report)

Same plumage as the Buffalo bird.

The locality is about 50 miles inland from New York City.

In 2012, "no tropical cyclones developed in the month of July"
(Wikipedia article).
