Observation start time: 06:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 9 hours

Official Counter: Jenna McDermott

Observers: Bob Hall-Brooks, Claude Radley, Dennis Gidge, Gwen Gidge,
                  Jim McCoy, Todd Pepper

Visitors:
A couple on vacation from Germany visited during the afternoon on their
tour of nice areas in Ontario for birding. Another couple from Windsor
enjoyed the view and are looking forward to visiting again with their
binoculars and bringing their son.

Weather:
A beautiful sunny day up on the tower with favourable NE winds in the early
morning that switched to S component winds in mid-morning. Temperatures
from 19-26C and visibility up to 28km.

Raptor Observations:
A good movement of Sharp-shinned and Coopers Hawks flying at eye level came
through earlier in the day with the NE winds. When the winds switched later
on, the raptors also became more difficult to see, flying at higher
altitudes. A nice variation of species flew through with 66 raptors of 9
species by the end of the day.

Non-raptor Observations:
Not much passerine movement today with small numbers of even Cedar Waxwings
(39) and American Goldfinch (13). American Redstarts and Black-throated
Green Warblers were seen as well as Swainson's Thrush and 7 Chimney Swifts.
The Snowy Egrets were back again today, feeding at what seems to be one of
their favourite ponds south of the tower.

6 Monarchs

See today's eBird list for other species seen

Predictions:
Winds coming at 10-15km/h from the South with a small chance of
thunderstorms in the afternoon.
