  The Buffalo Bird Report is a service provided by your
  Buffalo Museum of Science and the Buffalo Ornithological

  Highlights of reports received July 9 through July 16 from
  the Niagara Frontier Region.

  On the Buffalo waterfront, July 14, from morning till dusk,
  4 AMERICAN AVOCETS on the offshore, Donnelly's Pier
  sandspit. The AMERICAN AVOCETS were viewed from the Erie
  Basin Marina tower. A WILLET was also reported nearby on the
  Bird Island Pier, viewed from LaSalle Park.

  The BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING-DUCK continues on 12 Mile Creek,
  west of Wilson-Tuscarora State Park. After heavy rains this
  week cleared, the duck returned to the mouth of the creek,
  at Lake Ontario in Niagara County.

  ROSE-BR. GROSBEAKS at feeders this week - two males and a
  female have been regulars at a Village of Wilson feeder,
  with an ORCHARD ORIOLE. And, ROSE-BR. GROSBEAKS with young
  at a feeder in East Aurora.

  July 11, at Griffis Sculpture Park in the Cattaraugus County
  Town of East Otto, 25 species included BROAD-WINGED HAWK,
  OVENBIRD, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, HOODED WARBLER, BLACKBURNIAN
  WARBLER, CHESTNUT-S. WARBLER, BL.-THR. GREEN WARB. and
  EASTERN TOWHEE.

  And in Buffalo, a MERLIN continues in a previous breeding
  area in the Central Park neighborhood.
