Weather:
One must find some measure of color on even the bleakest of days. To wit:
the unpredictable hues of clouds before a storm. We ran the gamut today,
from eggshell white and charcoal gray to steel blue and shadowy lavender.
But a full day of cloud-gawking was not to be. Thunder and lightning
announced the storm's early afternoon arrival. The rain came down in short
order, hastening our departure.

Raptor Observations:
Taking a northern line, in quick succession two light morph Rough-legged
Hawks skittered into the trees off to our left, granting no more than a
fleeting glimpse. A lackadaisical harrier, two crabbing sharpies and three
careening vultures rounded things out.

Non-raptor Observations:
Tundra Swan (2), Hooded Merganser (1), Common Goldeneye (6), Bufflehead
(8), Lesser Scaup (2)

Predictions:
Partly cloudy with mild temps and strong southwest wind.
