Observation start time: 06:00:00
Observation end time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Sean Jenniskens

Observers:

Visitors:
As most of the kids are back in school now, there weren't many visitors;
just a local couple that came by for some nature photography.

Weather:
The day started out warm, but breezy, but quickly became very hot as the
morning progressed. All the days winds were South component, and clouds
were minimal. There was a slight haze over the lake the whole day.

Raptor Observations:
Migration was fairly slow, but there were 6 species of raptors migrating
over the tower today, but only Sharp-shinned Hawks were in any numbers.
There was a single female Merlin that was flying back and fourth all day,
and did not migrate.

Non-raptor Observations:
Non-raptor migration was also slow, but there were things moving. A total
of 197 Purple Martins were observed flying West over the tower, as well as
a total of 230 other swallows. 230 Cedar Waxwings also migrated through, as
well as 179 American Goldfinches. As far as Dragonflies, 8 Black
Saddlebags, 2 Green Darners, and a single Twelve-spotted Skimmer were
observed migrating past the tower. 3 Monarch Butterflies also migrated
past.

Predictions:
Moderate winds starting out in the W, and switching to the SW as the day
progresses. Temperatures starting in the mid 20s with highs of low 30s. Low
risk of thundershowers throughout the day.
