Swainson's Hawk - North of Alvinston

At approximately 11:30 am while driving north on Highway 21 north of Alvinston in Lambton County I saw the long, thin profile of a raptor up ahead of me on a hydro line that was different from the profiles of all the Red-tails I had already driven past. Sure enough it was an adult light race Swainson's Hawk.

I always wondered where the Swainson's Hawks came from when I was counting hawks at the Holiday Beach Migration Observatory.
