Visitors:
Thanks to the crew that put in the hours for today's great count... Bob,
Mac, Don, Tom, Jason and Cary.

Weather:
Well if you were going to go hawkwatching today would be the kind of
weather you want ... a good mix of sun and cloud with moderate NNW to N
winds for the entire count period. Temp was steady at around 10 to 11C.

Raptor Observations:
Wow! What a great flight today with a total of 1233 birds of 11 different
species! Not too bad for early November.

The best birds of the day would have to be the 39 Golden Eagles spotted
right near Sharpie Alley up to the B&B location). This is typical for the
Goldens as the tend to migrate past just slightly inland of the lakeshore.

Some other highlights included a few N. Goshawks (3), Roughies (3) and a
lone Peregrine.

Lots of TVs (545) along with a decent number of Bald Eagles (12), N.
Harriers (10), Sharpies (45) with lots of adults, Cooper's Hawks (8) and an
excellent flight of Red-shouldered Hawks (49) and Redtails (518).

One of the best flights of the 2016 season.

Non-raptor Observations:
Other birds noted for the day included a flock of Tundra Swans, Am. Cros,
Am. Robin, RW Blackbirds, Cedar Waxwings, Fox Sparrow, Field Sparrow,
Sandhill Cranes, Common Loon, Red-bellied Woodpecker and BC Chickadee.
