Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Matt Oswald

Observers: Eric Single, Mac McAlpine, Richard Skevington,
                  Ronnie Goodhand

Thanks to Matt, Mac, Eric, Ronnie, Richard S. and to several other visitors
who really helped with spotting the birds today and getting the count done.

Winds were as promised moderate to strong from the NW for the day with
solid cloud cover to start that eventually broke out to a mix of sun and
cloud. Temps started at 5C and rose to a high of just 9C. There was some
drizzle in the air just before the noon hour which may have affected the
flight negatively somewhat.

Raptor Observations:
The total birds for the day was 855 but with just 2 Golden Eagles for the
day which was a bit surprising given the time of the season and conditions.
However, there were some decent numbers of Sharpies (384) and Merlins (12)
with a good spread of other species across the observation period including
the first Roughie for the season and another adult N. Goshawk.

Non-raptor Observations:
A few non-raptors were noted today with Wild Turkey, Common Loons, Eastern
Bluebirds and Blue Jays along with lots of other passerines.

Well the powers that be are still forecasting NW or NNW winds for the
entire day on Wednesday though with a lot more cloud and a small chance of
precipitation by mid-afternoon. There should be at least a decent flight
for most species.

Thursday's forecast has changed a bit with NW winds predicted for the
morning before backing to W.
