Visitors:
Dave and Linda, Kory Renaud, John Barnes and Chip from Colchester, in
addition to Pat Schiller were at the tower today.  


Weather:
There were moderate winds from the northwest in the morning, which calmed
slightly in the afternoon and also shifted to the west northwest. It was
overcast skies in the morning but soon cleared to almost no clouds for the
rest of the day. Temperatures were around 0 C, humidity was at 60% and
visibility was good.

Raptor Observations:
An adult Golden Eagle was observed flying over early in the morning. A
light morph and a dark morph Rough-legged Hawk were observed today, the
first dark morph of the season. (154) Red-tailed Hawks, (21) Red-shouldered
Hawks. A Peregrine Falcon made an impressive dive from a higher altitude.
(3) Northern Harrier including an adult male "Gray Ghost" was seen. (3)
Sharp-shinned Hawks and (4) Coopers Hawks also flew over. (6) Bald Eagles
were observed, one of which was a presumed migrant today. 

Non-raptor Observations:
It was a pretty quiet day around the tower and marsh with the gusty winds
blowing.

Predictions:
Gusty winds are forecast from the southwest then west tonight and are
expected to shift to the northwest around 9:00 am tomorrow morning, then
the north around 1:00 pm and last the rest of the day. Mostly sunny skies
and a high temperature of 2 C is predicted. Tomorrow is looking like it
could be another good day!
