Ontario Rare Bird Alert July 17-23, 2020
Snowy Egret (Muskoka): A Snowy Egret was photographed near Gravenhurst by
Paula Sheppard on July 18; it was not seen again despite searches. This is
a new species for Muskoka District.
Eurasian Collared-Dove (Essex): This bird has been present for months now
northwest of Leamington on Albuna Townline near the intersection with
Mersea Rd 7.
White-winged Dove (Chatham-Kent): This long-staying bird has been present
since April at Rondeau, along Lakeshore Road south of the visitor centre
(vicinity of address 17272).
American Avocet (Lambton): One bird was at Forest Sewage Lagoons on July 22.
American Avocet (Middlesex): Four birds were at Strathroy Sewage Lagoons on
Dickcissel (Chatham-Kent, Essex): multiple birds continue in Chatham-Kent
and Essex; check eBird map for locations.
