Observation start time: 09:00:00
Observation end  time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 7 hours

Official Counter:        Tom Bolohan

Observers:        Bill Smith, Jim Bradshaw, Kitty Bradshaw, Tom Thomas

Visitors:
Thanks to Tom B, Tom T, Bill S. Jim and Kitty B and Ken W for helping with
today's count. :)

Weather:
A really nice hawk watching day weather wise with comfortble temps from 13C
to a high of only 18C. Winds were light from the NE and then NW for the
day. Clouds slowly built up through the day providing a good backdrop to
spot the birds.

Raptor Observations:
A pretty good flight today given we're inbetween the big push of Broadwings
and the next real push of other buteos like Redtails and Red-shoulders as
we get into October as well as the adult accipiters. Total birds for the
day was 2473 including the first couple of Red-shouldered Hawks for this
fall.

The highlight today was an immature Swainson's Hawk which passed right over
Sharpie Alley just to the north of the observation knoll around
mid-morning. This is the first SWHA for the Fall 2021 season at Hawk Cliff.

Non-raptor Observations:
None reported.

Predictions:
Winds are forecast to be somewhat light and variable for Friday which may
not produce much of a flight BUT watch for Saturday and decent SW winds
which may bring a number of Peregrines through.
