Observation start time: 07:30:00
Observation end  time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 6.5 hours

Official Counter:        Matt Oswald

Observers:        Derek Lyon

Visitors:
Quite a few visitors to the site today. Thanks to Matt O for serving as
official counter today as many of our ohter counters were spread around
Ontario taking part in the GREAT Great Lakes Hawk Watch this weekend.

Weather:
There were clouds around which helped spot the birds that were moving
through the hawk watch area though the cloud cover started to disappear as
the day went on and high pressure approached the region. Winds were
moderate from the N (and maybe a bit NNE) for the entire day and the
humidity dropped nicely through the morning.

Raptor Observations:
Despite the favourable winds from a northerly direction the total count for
the day was 487 with the bulk being Broadwings (304). Other raptors tallied
included a decent count of SHarpies (103) and Am. Kestrels (62) and a few
Coopers (4), Bald Eagles (3) and N. Harriers (9) and we decided to count a
couple of high flying Redtails as well.

Non-raptor Observations:
None reported today.

Predictions:
Lots of blue skies and winds starting light from the NE then swinging
around to the SE by midday.  There WILL be Broadwings and other raptors on
the move tomorrow BUT the big question will be where will the flight line
setup?
