Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end  time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter:        Chad Cornish

Observers:        Cameron Chevalier, Hugh Kent, Jeremy Bensette,
Karen Padbury, Noel Herdman, Paul Gosselin

Weather:
Extremely heavy fog to start the day; slight north winds. The sky would
clear, with temperatures becoming quite hot by mid-afternoon. Winds would
gradually move to a southern position.

Raptor Observations:
Festival of Hawks day two; another good day of flight. Sharp-shinned Hawks
led off, with American Kestrels slowing gaining ground as the day wore on.
Merlin and Northern Harrier also made an excellent showing. A huge shout
out to Jeremy B. for spotting the massive Broad-winged kettle extremely
high in the sky in the afternoon. They could only faintly be seen with
binoculars, and could only be counted with a scope. Thank you to all HBMO
volunteers for your contributions.

Non-raptor Observations:
Thanks to Chad for being the official counter. Many great observers helped
on the tower today - Noel, Paul, Karen, Daniel, Cam, Jeremy B., Hugh,
Patrick, and Steve. On the non-raptor front, Warblers were slower again
this morning, with the usual cast of characters on the marsh. The eBird
list can be found here:
https://ebird.org/checklist/S273466869

Predictions:
Another foggy start is predicted, along with a touch of northeast wind.
Temperatures again rising high in the afternoon, with winds shifting east.
Hoping for another big push tomorrow.
