The 2021 Ontario Bird Records Committee (OBRC) would like to thank the
observers and volunteers who have submitted records over the past year and
beyond - without your support, the OBRC would not function.

This year's committee has already received in excess of 150 reports but, as
we begin a new year, we would like to remind everyone that the FINAL
DEADLINE for 2021 submissions is JANUARY 31st. Reports received after this
date will be reviewed by the 2022 committee.

Reports should be submitted through the OBRC's online submission form:
http://ofo.ca/site/Obrcreport or via email to the OBRC Secretary
(obrc@ofo.ca mailto:obrc@ofo.ca ). Supporting documents (such as photos
and drawings) should be sent directly to the secretary and be clearly
labelled.

The review lists for the 3 reporting regions in Ontario and some excellent
guidelines for reporting can be found here:
http://ofo.ca/site/page/view/obrc.guidelines.
A reminder that reports of Carolina Wren and Dickcissel are no longer
requested for sightings in the Central Review Zone in 2021 and going
forward. Reports prior to 2021 are still required.
In the South Review Zone, the following species no longer require reports
but please note that observations prior to 2021 may still be required (see
attached dates): Western Grebe (pre 2021), Ruff (2014-2020), Western
Sandpiper (2017-2020), Mississippi Kite (pre 2021), Western Kingbird (pre
1998 and 2017-2020), Cave Swallow (pre 2010 and 2016-2020), Henslow's
Sparrow (1993-2020), and Blue Grosbeak (pre 2021).
There were no changes to the Lowland or Subspecies Review Lists.

If you would like to see the 2020 OBRC annual report (and earlier editions),
it can be viewed here: http://ofo.ca/site/ObrcAnnualReports.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thanks again from the OBRC to our excellent birding community.

Good birding in 2022!
