Thank you to observers: Michael, Noel, and Juliette. Your help and company
is always appreciated!

Weather:
The weather was pleasant again today with clear skies and light south wind.
The temperatures got up to almost 8C.

Raptor Observations:
There were slightly more raptors today mostly mid-day. At first we were
mostly seeing red-shouldered hawks, however the red-tails slowly showed up
too. There were a few northern harriers, a Cooper’s hawk, a Merlin and a
golden eagle.

Non-raptor Observations:
Again today there was a huge raft of mallards on the marsh on one of the
last remaining patches of water. Great blue herons were also numerous today
again. Horned lark, goldfinches, and even a few bluebirds were seen
migrating today, as well as first of the year snow buntings! Sparrows were
present around the tower, mostly white throated and song sparrows. On the
lake a few long lines of red head, canvasback and scaup floated by. A
Wilson’s snipe gave us a great view for a few hours today.

Predictions:
Tomorrow looks like another beautiful day with clear skies and warm
temperatures. Likely there will not be a massive migration tomorrow but we
still hope for rough legged hawks and golden eagles. The ice may melt back
more tomorrow which might encourage more ducks on the marsh.
