Happy 2021 birders! On 1 January I observed what I called an "interesting Herring Gull" at Guthrie Park in Corunna, ON, but was unable to get good photos due to distance and shooting through a snow storm, and didn't give any further thought to it. On 2 January, Deryl Nethercott photographed the same gull, noting smudging on the nape, extensive black in primaries, and black markings on tail.
