Observers:        Hugh Kent

Visitors:
We thank John and Linda for visiting us on this rather quiet day!

Weather:
The weather on the tower was windy and gusty all day from the southwest. At
midday we had a thunderstorm roll through Holiday Beach. After this, the
temperatures warmed up.

Raptor Observations:
There were much less raptors today, possibly due to the weather. We still
managed to spot some sharpies, kestrels, northern harriers, merlins and a
peregrine.

Non-raptor Observations:
The weather kept the non-raptors hunkered down most of the day. After the
rainstorm, we spotted a few warblers. There were also more waterfowl on the
marsh today with wigeon, American coot, pintail and more. There were also
much less blue jays than yesterday, yet we still managed to count 13,000.

Predictions:
Tomorrow and throughout the rest of the week, temperatures are cooling
slightly (much to our relief). We hope this brings more hawks our way
especially if the winds are in our favour!
