Official Counter: Chris Burris
Observers: Dave Brown
Visitors:
A few throughout the day.
Weather:
Temps from 19C-23C. Winds began weak SSE, shifting to moderate SSW. Cloud
cover nearly absent throughout.
Raptor Observations:
In terms of countable raptors, we barely mustered double digits today.
"Vocal local" (presumably) Bald Eagles were active in the updrafts along
the cliff edge, however, with at least 7 individuals displaying all 5
years' plumage patterns showed up.
Non-raptor Observations:
Non-raptors were sparse as well, but we did spot an Olive-sided Flycatcher.
Full eBird list here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S271341032
About 10 Monarchs noted, along with Mourning Cloak and Great Spangled
Fritillary/
Predictions:
Robust NW winds are forecast in the morning, but these will probably be
accompanied by rain as a front moves through. Afternoon sun will be coupled
by W to SW, so a minimal flight is expected.
