Visitors:
A few visitors today. Thanks to Chris, Mac, Matt, Ken, Su and Ronnie for
helping with todays count as small as it was.
Weather:
A totally overcast day with not much sunshine. Winds were moderate from the
SW as forecast and temps were actually quite warm starting at 17C and
getting to a high of 21C.
Raptor Observations:
With the moderate SW winds we were expecting birds along the cliff and
especially some Peregrines. We got just 67 birds total and a lot of those
were Turkey Vultures . It took several hours before we got the first
Peregrine and then got 5 more in the mid-afternoon and all of them but one
of them right along the cliff. One of the young birds seemed to enjoy
chasing a Turkey Vulture along the updraft. A couple of these birds were
adults. Otherwise, not much else was flying though we did get a couple of
Osprey and some Coopers Hawks, N Harriers and Am Kestrels.
Non-raptor Observations:
One of the more interesting sightings was 3 Chimney Swifts right past us
just above tree top height. The full eBird checklist for the day can be
found at the following link:

Predictions:
The forecast for tomorrow is for moderate SW winds almost identical to
today. The key will be if the rain gets through and out eastward quickly
enough first thing and then MAYBE therell be some more birds along the
cliff
